Absolut claims that the map is from the 1830's and shows the past. The map shows Panama which didn't separate from Columbia until 1903. The map shows the future according to Absolut. My future does not include Absolut! EVER! |

I just wanted to point out that Absolut's defense that claims that the map shown is a map of Mexico prior to the Mexican-American War is bunk. All of the borders shown, with the exception of Mexico's, are present day. Panama is clearly visible and it is not shown as a part of Columbia...which it clearly was in 1830. Belize is also visible and it has only been an independent nation for about 20 years. Absolut's entire story is unbelievable. The map portrays how Mexico wishes the border should be, not how it was.
Absolut's apology is totally inadequate and I will do everything possible to alert every American to this advertisement and Absolut's decision to side with the Reconquista movement over the United States of America. |
